Salomon Running TV

A selection of wonderful short films based around speed in the mountains, brought to us by Salomon.

Salomon Running TV presents Of Fells and Hills - a excellent short video about the Cumbrian fell running scene. Featuring fell running legends Joss Naylor, Billy Bland and Kenny Stuart - combined with some stunning photography - this is a video that will appeal to all lovers of Lakeland.

Billy Bland held the record for the Bob Graham Round for 36 years (see below) until it was broken by Kilian Jornet in 2018. Meanwhile, Joss Naylor held the record for a continuous single round of all the Wainwright fells until his time was beaten by Steve Birkenshaw in 2014. Meanwhile, Kenny Stuart to this day holds the records for the Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Skiddaw fell races. The film is a tribute to all who venture onto the high fells with speed in mind. Whilst Joss and Billy's records have since been broken, their achievements are undiminished.

The Bob Graham

Salomon Running TV presents The Bob Graham - a film following Ricky Lightfoot's successful attempt at the 42 peak, 66 mile run around the Lake District, entailing a staggering 27,000 feet of ascent and descent (Everest is 29,030 feet high).

Starting at the Keswick Moot Hall, the round first traverses the northern summits of Skiddaw, Great Calva and Blencathra before heading south across the spine of Helvellyn. After cutting across at Dunmail Rise, the round then takes in many of the high peaks of the southern and western fells, including Scafell Pike, before heading over the final summit of Robinson and down back to Keswick. It is one of the greatest challenges in mountain running and a winter ascent only adds to this.
