Yewbarrow
On February 16th 2016, I decided to travel to Wasdale - probably the most dramatic valley in the Lake District - with a view to climbing the peaks around Mosedale. I ascended the glorious Yewbarrow: a mountain that assumes the appearance of an overturned ship and offers unparalleled views across to the Scafell massif. Fighting off the cold, I ventured up towards Red Pike but turned back mere metres from the summit. A lack of crampons or an ice axe meaning that to venture on would have been folly.
